Surrey, UK : The purpose of the Simulator 3 is to deliver VSAT systems designers and integrators with a test platform to trial a range of applications and to see the effect that delay, errors and QoS (Quality of Service) has on the performance of their end user applications.

The Simulator 3 combines the interface types found commonly used satellite modems – IP and serial – because you never know which modem you will be interfacing to next.

Up to 16 IP ports are presented on the device. The IP ports can be configured to represent the types of network performance found in a satellite IP network, with bandwidth restrictions and QoS profiles extensively configurable. Delays can also be applied, together with a wide range of error facilities – reflecting the possible real-world conditions of operating a satellite terminal in less-than-ideal conditions. A range of packet errors facilities deliver users with typical scenarios which everyday routers have to deal with.

The Simulator 3 offers the following:

• Scripting for Detailed Network Testing
