Introducing VOS 7

Efficient development and support are provided through the use of a common operating system that is used throughout the BASICS and PRO product ranges. Vocality Operating System (VOS) encompasses the real-time operating system, FIPS-ready secure network binaries, multiplexing and routing functionality.

VOS combines all the elements needed to deliver real-time, reliable data switching, optimisation and routing around complex, multi-node networks.

An upgrade package is available to owners of V25, V50plus, V150 and V200 units.vos-Sticker_2

The integral IP functionality, essential in today's netcentric environments, includes functionality such as:
IPv4 Routing (IPv6 in 2011)
Routing Protocols
BGP
OSPF
RIPv2
DHCP Server / Client
QoS/Bandwidth Pool Management
Static Routes
Network Security
IPSEC
SSH
Optimisation
SIP Gateway (Bandwidth Optimised)
RTP Optimisation (Header Compression)
TCP PEP Acceleration (Optional)
IP Aggregates
UDP Relay
Spanning Tree
SNMPv3 MIB II Reporting
VLAN Tagging
Jitter Buffer Optimisation

The latest release is version 7, which introduced a number of key network security features. Products running VOS all utilise a shared, common code base, which has available all the capabilities of the operating system, with each product utilising the relevant area specific to its hardware configuration.

Owners of V25, V50plus, V150 and V200 can upgrade to version 7 if equipment is in warranty or carrying a Silver or Gold service package. Please contact your local Vocality office for more information.
