Military

Vocality's network router equipment can be deployed in government, emergency service and military applications. In response to customer demand, Vocality has adapted its commercial product offering so it can be integrated into tactical kits developed by third party systems integrators. An example of this is BASICS, which is also available in a PC104 building-block chassis. The unit can then be integrated into first responder voice and data communications kits.

Within the UK, where there are limited systems integration partner opportunities, Vocality was encouraged to develop a TEMPEST standard communications kit, designed with military, police and goverment users in mind - the ELITE Reactor.

Some of Vocality's products which are used in commercial applications, also support -40 to +80°C wide temperature range operation making them ideal for use in demanding environments.

Vocality's BASICS Radio Relay offers a gateway function into CoCo's communications switching platform as well as other third party radio switching server systems, providing a perfect compliment for their solution. A solutions guide will be available shortly.

ELITE Reactor

ELITE_Side_Ports_small

ELITE Reactor is designed for fast responder British operatives to have access to multiple phone circuits and IP capability, for use in mission critical environments such as counter-terrorism, intelligence gathering or military action, as well as for field communications for major national events such as the 2012 Olympics.

The ELITE Reactor incorporates a slot for the installation of a customer-supplied UK approved encryptor for security on the IP WAN, such as a satellite link. The HAIPE approved IP encryptor is mounted securely within the ELITE Reactor housing.

The ELITE Reactor is barely larger than a tough laptop but incorporates a four port VoIP switch and a four IP port high performance network router, together with the IP encryptor. Both network router and voice switch are from Vocality's BASICS range.

PC104 OEM Board

For the systems integrator community, all BASICS boards can be supplied in a standalone PC104 form factor. For full heat management, the units are all wrapped in an aluminium heat jacket whilst the industrial grade components used offer wider than 0 to 70degC support. These boards can be used as part of a CISCO Mobile Access Router stack. BASICS in PC104 form is the most efficient way of deploying a network router, voice gateway, radio relay over IP or secure voice extension.

The PC104 boards can be supplied with conformal coating, with either the PC104 bus connectors (which are used only for power delivery and mounting), or without legs for flush installation directly onto metal. Full information and schematics are available. The board can also be provided with the Transition Board, which converts the AMP50 connectors on the BASICS PC104 board to the regular RJ45 connectors, as presented on the standalone COTS chassis.
