Ethernet Switch Modules and Cards
The Ethernet Switch Module enhances the V50plus with the option to install multiple IP ports within the unit. This removes the need for a third party hub or switch - saving space and power. Up to 2 such modules can be installed into a V50plus chassis.The Ethernet Switch Module is one of several modules designed to install onto the Standard CPU Card as an add-on module. The resulting combination of a Standard CPU Card and the Ethernet Switch Module is an Ethernet Switch Card, delivering 8 port Ethernet switch, router and serial data functionality.
When the Ethernet Switch Card is installed, the single, local Ethernet port is routed to the bank of 8 Ethernet ports – expanding it’s connectivity. Eight 10/100 base-T ports are presented, with LEDs on each socket to show network activity.
Vocality can supply a variant which offers PoE (Power over Ethernet) support, to deliver power to tributary devices such as VoIP phones.
