Feature Keys
A significant proportion of Vocality devices are deployed over satellite, which invariably means installing or shipping kit into hard to reach places. Many capabilities in Vocality products are installed at production and simply remain switched off until activated with a Feature Key. For example, a user may wish to add VoIP phone capabilities to an existing Vocality setup - or add more voice channels. This can be achieved by inserting a Feature Key - an ascii string of characters which act as an unlocking password in a specific serial number unit.
Permanent Feature Keys are issued by Vocality upon receipt of a purchase for the items, although 24 hour Demo Feature Keys can be issued for specified serial numbered units in order to trial a feature, such as PEP TCP Acceleration or VoIP.
