Analogue Voice Modules and Cards (FXS)
For systems requiring traditional POTS phones, the Analogue Voice Module is essential. The module can be installed into the V50plus chassis - or connected to a Standard CPU Card to create an Analogue Voice Card and installed within a V150 or V200 chassis. The Analogue Voice Card (FXS) offers 8 ports for the connection of telephones, modems and fax machines. The sockets are delivered as RJ45 - also supporting RJ11.
The card contains the hardware for 8 full telephone ports, but a reduced cost 4 port configuration is shipped as standard, with channels 5, 6, 7 and 8 software enabled through the use of a feature key. This allows users with small requirements to integrate units such as the V50plus into sealed systems, or deployed overseas, and when the time comes for them to upgrade the number of voice ports, they will just need a text-based feature key to be issued from Vocality.

Ports 1 to 4 offer full telephone interfaces, supporting both 2 wire and 4 wire communications: 2 wire for ringing telephones, and 4 wire for E&M switches and open communications circuits - popular in broadcasting applications.
Echo cancellation, SCIP (formerly FNBDT), fax and modem support are delivered on all ports as standard.
Each voice port can be soft configured with a number of compression algorithms. All of them are compatible with the Digital Voice Card, and G.729A is compatible with VoIP (Satellite Optimised SIP).
