V150 Launched and Shipments Commence

31st January 2007: Following the huge success of the V100 was never going to be easy, but the ground up re-designed replacement, the V150, rises to the challenge.

Vocality’s multiplexer/routers – an alternative to “mainstream” terrestrial routers – are designed specifically for satellite. The V150 combines multiple independent routers and multiplexer cards, delivering a unique combination of traditional and VoIP-based telephony with satellite optimised network routing and serial data handling.

Compatible with the latest in satellite networks, both IP and serial based, the V150 can be considered for use in both mobile (comms on the move/comms on the pause) as well as fixed infrastructure networks.

A first for Vocality, the V150's option cards are fully compatible with the V200 - it's larger gateway device, ensuring users who are starting in a new satellite network have a migration path giving them the option to expand their chassis to the V200 at a later date without losing the investment they have made in Vocality cards.

Important new functionality has been added to the V150 specifically for United States DoD applications. The new V150 platform can support up to 24 concurrent analogue US DoD secure phones over a single multiplexer and router platform combined. Secure phones supported include STU III, analogue STE and SCIP (FNBDT).
