Introducing Vocality

Vocality International manufactures multiplexers, routers and secure voice equipment for use in the satellite communications market. The majority of Vocality applications are those where size, reliability or performance in harsh or restrictive conditions are critical driving factors. The typical clients for Vocality equipment would be those with these needs - operating mission critical services.

NBC Flyaway

Commercial Clients

Vocality enjoys a strong reputation in the news broadcast market, where it's clients include NBC, BBC, SIS Link, ITN, Sky News, CBS, France 24, Canal+, SABC, Channel 9 and many more. Vocality provides voice, order wire and full IP router capabilities for truck and satellite flyaway operators who are operating video uplink services - either within their own country, or from war zone, manmade or natural disaster events. Vocality's largest client in this sector is SIS Link who operate over 100 Vocality V100 or V150 systems in the network they operate for Sky News, ITV and ITN.

Military Clients

After many years working with UK MoD, and with partners such as Qinetiq, NSSL, BAE Systems and Selex, Vocality has established a firm user base of its equipment within UK defence forces. Vocality is grateful for the support and commitment of these partners over the years.

Paradigm

Vocality was delighted to be offered the first Frame Agreement established by Skynet V operator and key supplier to UK MoD, Paradigm in the UK for the provision of multiplexers and routers to the UK MoD, whilst Vocality also supplies Army and land-based tactical communications users in UK, France, Netherlands, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and many other countries.

Vocality has specific success supplying Navy fleet operators with communications equipment, working with countries as diverse as UK, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Turkey, Australia and the United States. The Vocality equipment was the chosen platform for EADS Astrium's activities in Turkey. The V100 and V150 are deployed in Naval installations ranging from ships from aircraft carriers through to landing ships, destroyers, troop transport ships through to submarines.

In the United States, Vocality supplies its tactical voice platform to clients such as SPAWAR , Space Missile Defence Battle Labs, Special Ops, MBCOTM and the United States Marine Corps including 2 MEF. In particular, Vocality's equipment has a strong reputation in the field of bandwidth efficient delivery of tactical voice circuits over limited bandwidth satellite links. Vocality's technology can be used to support up to 60 concurrent tactical phone circuits through a single voice card. The current range is available on GSA through several partners, and new OEM systems are being developed with partners for release to the US military market in 2008.

Company Background

Vocality is a privately owned organisation, employing over 30 members of staff, across hardware and software design through to support and installation and sales functions. The company has grown organically over 11 years and during this time, the organisation has consistently invested heavily in new technology design, research and development, allowing it to compete aggressively with the large router manufacturers. As a result of this commitment to investment in new technology designs, the products have become the standard choice for many of the worlds most demanding communications operators.

The Infrastructure

Vocality's Head Office is based in the South of England, within 45 minutes of Heathrow and Gatwick Airports and 30 minutes by train from Central London. Despite being well connected, Vocality's head office is actually a network of four beautifully restored, historic barn buildings, offering Vocality the combination of high technology in an environment which is desirable to work in and for clients to visit. Since 2003, Vocality has operated small remote offices in Herndon, Virginia in the United States and also in Central Coast, Australia.

Vocality International continues to grow and develop, but core to the organisation is the idea that the company can support and provide for the satellite communications industry innovative design and outstanding support for users with the most critical applications in the most demanding of environments.

Management Team

The organisation is built around a strong network of management and staff who all have significant skills in their particular field. The founders and Directors of the Vocality group of companies are Julian Bashford, Chief Executive Officer and Martin Saunders, Chief Technical Officer
