Vocality Launches Free Major New Release of Software
01/August/2008 15:45
Vocality is
pleased to announce the latest software release for its
multiplexer/router products. Version
04_08.01 includes some
significant new features such as NFS functionality, which allows
ISDN calls to be made across a Vocality network between terminal
devices; support for the MLPP protocol on digital and analogue
voice calls and support for the OSPF networking protocol.
The ISDN NFS mode, supported on our Basic rate ISDN card and our primary rate E1/T1 card, allows a Vocality network to act as an ISDN network for Euro-ISDN and US National-1 ISDN users, switching calls between BRI cards and/or E1/T1 primary rate cards based on the digits dialled.
Multi-Level Precedence and Pre-emption (MLPP) is a protocol which provides a means whereby voice calls may be assigned precedence on a per call basis ranging from the lowest precedence, 4 (Routine) to highest precedence 0 (Flash Override). In the case of congestion, either at the terminating user or within shared network resources, this precedence level may be used to pre-empt (terminate) existing low precedence calls to allow a high precedence call to complete. This protocol is frequently supported within tactical network switches.
Support for the OSPF protocol (as defined in RFC 2328) is included. Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) IP routing is a shortest path first or link-state protocol. It is an interior gateway protocol that distributes routing information between routers in a single autonomous system (AS). OSPF chooses the least-cost path as the best path. The following features of the protocol are supported:

New ISDN over Fibre Range Launches
16/May/2008 10:45

Vocality International is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the new ISDN over Fibre extender product. This device offers a solid, zero-configuration platform for the extension of FOUR Basic Rate ISDN Circuits over Single Mode or Multi Mode Fibre Optics.
The ISDN over Fibre Extender offers 4 x RJ45 sockets connecting to the ISDN Network at one end - connecting to the remote site via fibre - and presenting 4 x powered ISDN sockets. The device's typical applications include the provision of ISDN around a military base, where data security is of prime importance, or where the extension of services over a long distance is required.
This is the first in a broad expansion of the Vocality product range into this field, with more products due during 2008 and 2009.
