Vocality is pleased to announce the introduction of a new web site - specifically dedicated to the Military and Government users of Vocality equipment in the United States. This important user-base for Vocality has specific technology requirements that differ from those addressed by the products outside the US, so it was felt that a specific - more focussed - web site would be the best approach. Vocality International is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the new ISDN over Fibre extender product. This device offers a solid, zero-configuration platform for the extension of FOUR Basic Rate ISDN Circuits over Single Mode or Multi Mode Fibre Optics.

The ISDN over Fibre Extender offers 4 x RJ45 sockets connecting to the ISDN Network at one end - connecting to the remote site via fibre - and presenting 4 x powered ISDN sockets. The device's typical applications include the provision of ISDN around a military base, where data security is of prime importance, or where the extension of services over a long distance is required.

This is the first in a broad expansion of the Vocality product range into this field, with more products due during 2008 and 2009.

El Paso based Action Systems have developed innovative new integrated systems comprising Vocality's V25 multiplexer/router into their new TRM-25E and TRM-25B tactical terminals.

Both systems offer two voice circuits, integrated Vocality bridge/router, TCP acceleration by Vocality's PEP and a combination of AC and DC power supplies and long life battery power cells capable of providing hours of mux/router operation whilst also providing top-up power to external BGAN terminals such as those from Thrane and Thrane.

Vocality's Spanish partner, New Bits is pleased to announce in April 2008, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has acquired a V200 to act as a powerful central hub for a new Ministry of Foreign Affairs network, connecting to Vocality multiplexer/routers in Spanish Embassies around the world back to Spain for network and voice traffic.

Vocality's Engineering Department is pleased to announce that the forthcoming release of software, 4.8.1 is currently in testing for release soon. The new release adds three critically important new features to the router and multiplexer range. The software is compatible with all current V25, V50plus, V150 and V200 devices.

MLPP functionality is now available in Vocality software at no extra cost.

Multi-level Precedence and Pre-emption (MLPP) is a protocol devised to allow high-priority users to interrupt low-priority users in a voice network where bandwidth is restricted. Vocality has implemented this across all of its analogue, digital, ISDN and SIP voice channels in response to demand from the US DoD, amongst others. The protocol allows up to five priority levels of subscriber to coexist on a network and guarantees that high-priority users can always get through, holding any interrupted calls for the duration while playing out comfort tones and then allowing the low priority call to be reinstated.

MLPP is implemented in the main Vocality software which operates in devices such as the V150 and V200.

Vocality International has shipped the new ISDN Card, offering a combination of router, serial data and 1 to 4 Terminal Adapter ports. Further information is available here.
